Jia Bella’s 2nd Birthday – Ballet Shoes & Two Twos!

Hello friends! So, jumping into the new year I thought I’d do a blog post on our Jia Isabella’s second birthday! I’m not crying, you’re crying! No really though, I am! I’m so excited that I finally have a blog launched with a recent birthday party to share. I always get asked so many questions about where I find things or who I use for cakes, decor, cookies, and so on and I thought this would be a great place to put all the party details for you!

Ballet Shoes & Two Twos

Shortly after Jia’s first birthday I picked a theme and I stayed with it. Her party theme was “ballet shoes & two twos.” When I start to plan a party I take my vision to Pinterest and start searching everything. I mean everything! I get all my inspiration in one place and then next I look for items on Etsy. I love to shop small businesses and Etsy always has the cutest stuff. I always get my invites from there and once I have those I can move on with the rest of party planning.

PARTY DECORATIONS

For this party I knew I wanted it to be dainty with lots of balloons and simple decor.

I love a good balloon banner and my go-to place for ordering balloons is @paperboyshop They have such a good variety and every color you could imagine. I had a balloon garland made to go around the dessert table made by @martinvvaladez and it came out exactly how I wanted! I went for soft pink , champagne and pearly white to stick with the ballet theme.

Her birthday banners, cake topper, and goodie bags were made by Alissa @yourdecor.az she can make just about anything you need for any occasion!

PARTY FOOD

When we need special delicious treats I always go to @jess_the_baker. She made Jias cupcakes, cake pops, and cake. She is local in Phoenix and does amazing work!

I always have cookies made to go with the theme as well. I often get asked who we use and – honestly – it’s always different. This time around I also wanted to add a new treat to the table so I ordered some chocolate covered apples from @berryinfused. Yum! Those were such a hit!

For food, when I plan a party it usually goes based on the theme and the weather.
Jias menu was peanut butter and jelly ballerina sandwiches, cheese and veggies platter, and tuna pasta along with some vegan salads, rice and shredded chicken.

PARTY ENTERTAINMENT

With a kids party it is always a good idea to have entertainment.  For the past couple years we have had someone come dressed as a character to go with the theme. The company we used not only sends someone dressed as a character but they can do face painting, make animal balloons, and they never disappoint! For Jia’s birthday, we we had a ballerina come and she was amazing. I’m pretty sure she was also Jia’s Snow Princess for her Winter ONEderland party. If your interested here’s the owners information Nancy Gonzales (602) 290-3006.

This time around we also got a jumper for the kids to play around in which was a big hit!

PARTY PHOTOGRAPHY

And last but not least, our photos were taken by @wildlingsphoto.co. She did a great job – our lighting is so bad in our house (lol) so most of the photos were of the kids playing.  And, in true little kid fashion, Jia Bella she was in awe all day at the party so she would bareley crack a smile, lol!

I hope some of this info helps you plan your kids parties.  We have another big birthday next month –  Cruz will be 4 – oh how my heart hurts! I can’t wait to share his birthday with you guys! Thanks for reading and make sure to message me if you have any questions!
